Give AI agents your business tools, not your API keys
Agents need answers from your store, payments and shipping. They don’t need the keys. MoltenRock Connect sits in between, on your Mac.
The short answer
You can give an AI agent access to a platform without giving it the key: put a broker in between that holds the key, makes the call and returns only the answer. MoltenRock Connect is that broker on a Mac. You add each platform’s key once; agents ask Connect over MCP or a local socket; Connect calls the platform directly and returns the result. Agents can read, and on Stripe propose changes you approve.
The problem
Pasting a key into an agent is permanent
- Keys get copiedInto prompts, logs, config files and chat history. Once shared, you can’t know every place it went.
- Keys do more than the taskA key that can read orders can often write them too. The agent gets the whole key, not just the task.
- Rotation breaks thingsChange the key and every agent config that holds a copy has to change with it.
How MoltenRock handles it
The key stays with Connect
- 31 platformsStripe, Shopify, WooCommerce, ShipStation, AfterShip, Cloudflare and more. Each key is added once.
- Read actionsAgents ask for orders, customers, payments, tracking. Connect returns answers, never the key.
- Changes by approvalOn Stripe an agent can propose a change; you approve it with Touch ID before Connect sends it.
- Keys in MoltenRockWith MoltenRock Pro’s vault mode, Connect’s keys live in the Secure Enclave vault too.
How it works
Set it up
- 01Install MoltenRock ConnectFree for Mac. Two platforms free; all 31 with Connect Pro ($9.99, one time) or MoltenRock Pro.
- 02Add a platformPaste a read-only key (for Stripe’s Human Queue, a secret or restricted key you control).
- 03Connect your agentClaude Desktop, Claude Code and Cursor connect over MCP; other agents on the Mac use Connect’s local socket.
Straight answer
What the agent does and doesn’t get
Stays on your Mac
- Every platform key, inside Connect (or MoltenRock’s vault)
- Customer names and addresses, as tokens
- The decision on any change
Leaves your Mac
- Calls from your Mac straight to each platform
- The answers your agent asked for, to your agent
- Whatever the agent passes to its AI model
Questions
What people ask first
Is this OAuth?
No. Connect uses each platform’s own API key, stored on your Mac. The agent authenticates to Connect locally, not to the platform.
Can agents write data?
On Stripe they can propose changes you approve. On the other platforms Connect offers read actions only.
Does Connect need MoltenRock?
No. It works on its own with keys in your Mac’s Keychain. MoltenRock adds Secure Enclave storage, and MoltenRock Pro lets you approve Human Queue proposals.
Is there a server in the middle?
No. Connect runs on your Mac and calls each platform directly.
