Let OpenClaw or Hermes read your inbox and draft replies
Your agent sorts the inbox and writes the replies. You read the drafts and press send yourself.
The short answer
To give OpenClaw or Hermes email access safely, connect them through MoltenMail instead of giving them your mailbox password. MoltenMail lets the agent list folders, read messages and save drafts, and blocks sending, deleting, moving and marking, even if the agent asks. Your password stays in MoltenMail, in the macOS Keychain, and attachments and remote images aren’t passed through by default.
The problem
Full mailbox access is too much for an agent
- Passwords in configsMany email setups for agents want your password in a file.
- Send is dangerousAn agent that can send can be talked into forwarding the wrong thing.
- Email is untrusted inputAny message can carry instructions aimed at your agent.
How MoltenRock handles it
Read and draft, nothing more
- Reads and draftsList folders, read messages, save drafts to your Drafts folder.
- No send, delete, move or markBlocked by MoltenMail on your Mac, whatever the agent asks.
- Password keptIn the macOS Keychain, inside MoltenMail. The agent never gets it.
